Voices (Vocal Interactive Communication and Social Strategies)

Located in Chapel Hill, NC, Voices offers music therapy to empower Autistic and otherwise neurodivergent youth. Voices offers a number of different programs including individual therapy, school programs, early childhood programs, and local community programs.

Express Yourself NC

Express Yourself works with neurodivergent youth and their families to increase understanding from all parties and empower neurodivergent children. This program offers individual therapy for neurodivergent youth, family consultations, and teacher trainings.

Family Support Network of North Carolina

Provides support to the families of children with disabilities through a variety of workshops, referrals, family activities, and assistance with navigating the service system.

TheraFriends

A neurodiverse and LGBTQIA+ affirming organization, TheraFriends, located in Cary, NC offers therapy for children and families as well as screenings and evaluations, group therapy, and parent/teacher collaboration.

Employment

LiNC-IT

Launched in 2018, LiNC-IT is aimed at reducing unemployment rates for Autistic individuals by providing experience and paid internships for Autistic students and young adults

The Power of the Dream

The Power of the Dream creates jobs and advocates for adults with Autism and/or intellectual and developmental disabilities. In addition to advocacy, The Power of the Dream offers a training course on starting your own small business, as well as employment at their own thrift store HANDmeUPs.

The Arc of North Carolina

Project SEARCH through The Arc of North Carolina offers a year-long program for young individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities focused on providing the skills needed for long term employment and a supported transition into internships and further employment opportunities.

Autism Support and Advocacy Center (ASAC)

ASAC provides both training for employers as well as resume building, application support, interview practice, and job matching for Autistic individuals.

General

The ARC of the Triangle

The Arc of the Triangle supports both children and adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities (IDD) through a variety of programs including summer camps, mental health services, local events (such as Arctoberfest), online and in person classes, and employment support along with many others.

Hub for Autism and Neurodiversity (HaND)

Through the Blue Cross NC Institute for Health and Human Services at App State, HaND provides educational resources for communal and family connections. The Hub for Diverse Abilities on the App State Campus provides a lending library of various neurodiversity affirming resources including books, sensory materials, and advocacy information.

TEACCH Autism Program

Through the University of North Carolina, TEACCH has multiple centers spread across North Carolina including Chapel Hill and Raleigh. These centers offer a variety of clinical services including initial referral and consultations, diagnostic evaluations, family consultations, parent support groups, social and recreation groups, individual counseling, and employment services.
