Empowering neurodivergent individuals and their loved ones to live their best lives now.
What do we do?
At Neurodiversity Empowerment Services, a collective of therapeutic professionals specializing in autistic and ADHD wellness, we believe in empowering neurodivergent individuals to live their best lives. We also recognize that there may be additional mental health concerns that make this more challenging. We offer a range of services to help neurodivergent individuals and their family members work with a diagnosis to lead happier, healthier lives.
We offer an array of services to support neurodivergent individuals, including both individual and group psychotherapy, dinner clubs, parent trainings, support services, skill building, and more!
We work closely with our clients to build authentic relationships and supports, and with the neurodivergent community to stay aware of variations in needs among different individuals. In particular, we collaborate with neurodivergent self-advocates and family-advocates to understand the challenges that face this community, paying special attention to the needs of neurodivergent people of color, so that we may better serve our clients.
What is neurodiversity?
Dictionary Definition:
NOUN: The range of differences in individual brain function and behavioral traits, regarded as part of normal variation in the human population.
Neurodiversity is the term used to acknowledge that all of our brains work a bit differently from one another, making us all neurologically diverse from one another. The term neurodivergent refers to someone whose brain functions on a “different wave” than what many consider to be more “typical”. The term usually includes differences that may result in a diagnosis of intellectual and/or developmental disorders (IDD), such as Autism, ADHD, Tourette’s Syndrome, and more.
